Convesation starter

So being as it is the end of the year, all kinds of magazines and websites are telling us what the best music of 2007 is. This year has really surprised me with the great new CD that have come out. So i want people to tell me what they think is the best from this year.

Here is a list that Paste Magazine put out....Paste Top 100

And there are still more....like Andrew Birds album Armchair Apocrypha didn't make this list...although some other list had him on there!

Anyway, the point of this blog is not to see what the magazines and websites liked..its to see what my friends liked this year. So..

What was your favorite CD this year and why? If you have more than one that cool too! I have to put some more thought and listening into this question and then i'll get back with you guys :) I had kind of forgotten that some of these CD's came out this year! :) I'm sure most of you are suprised that i'm not immediately saying RADIOHEAD...but i'm trying to give other cd's a shot too! hehe!

Tonight...if you aren't busy....The Stringents Christmas Show at the Blue Door! Show starts at 8...and we will be playing some paint it black!! its really cool! :)

I will go on and say Radiohead. :) That's a given.

Once Soundtrack

Sufjan Stevens Christmas Album (although it didn't come out this year-I just discovered it this year)

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but those are the ones that came to mind first.

I've been pretty busy this year listening to OLD new music. The best finds have been:
Queen's _A Night at the Opera_,
Tom Waits' _Rain Dogs_ _Alice_ and _Blood Money_ The Who's _Who's Next_
John Coltrane's _A Love Supreme_
The Zombie's _Odessey and Oracle_

Of the new stuff?
I've liked the new Radiohead, Modest Mouse, LOVED the new Wilco, and have kind of liked the new Alison Krauss/ Robert Plant album. (But with the discovery of the music of the past I'm finding less and less of a reason to bother trying to keep up with current music....:-)
