in response to....

"*warning to all of those who bring alcoholic beverages- don't be surprised if you make two new friends (aka Ryan ******** and Jenn *****) for the evening. They have been known to befriend people so that you might share some of your alchohol. Don't trust 'em."

well at least we are friendly...we don't un-invite people to our parties...or make children cry...bitch....

i was at one of my schools today...i was waiting in the hall for my class to get back from the library and all of the sudden this lady starts talking to me...

her.."i've got that same sweater"

me..."cool"

her..."did you get it at target, i got mine for $4...isn't that great"

then she proceeds to hug me...there are several first here...i've never been hugged because i had the same sweater as someone...i've never been hugged in the first 3 minutes that i've met and started talking to someone...

mike has inspired me to tell a few memories from my childhood...i think i've suppressed a lot of them but there are a few that i will tell...

* when my siblings and i were little we called sheets and blankets, hot covers and cold covers...the sheets were cold when we got into bed and the blankets kept you hot...

* we had a station wagon.... we always had a fight about who got to sit in the "back back"...

* we re-wrote the lyrics to stevie wonders "i just called to say i love you"...to "i just called to say eat my underwear"....thinking about that now makes me laugh...i have no idea where we came up with that : )

* nearly ever sunday on the way to church my grandpa would put in the mills brothers...i am sure none of you have heard of the mills brothers and trust me its okay...but we used to go to church singing..."glow little glow worm, glimmer glimmer"...and "I'm gonna buy a Paper Doll that I can call my own A doll that other fellows cannot steal And then the flirty, flirty guys with their flirty, flirty eyes Will have to flirt with dollies that are real"....to this day i have a fondness in my heart for the mills brothers...

* i started playing cello when i was about 8 years old...i once was giving a "concert" for my grandma and dad when i first started...i think i was playing twinkle twinkle...my grandma starting crying and had to leave the room.... i thought that i was so good that i made her cry...i was thinking she was so proud of me for being able to play cello...well, i found out years later (after they realized i was pretty good) that my grandma was laughing so hard that tears started rolling down her face... : ) its funny that when i was younger no one ever thought that i would play the cello very long or that i would be very good at it...my old strings teacher told me a few years ago that she was always shocked when my name kept showing up on her attendance sheets at the first of the year...and she never expected me to be any good : ) thats funny to me because "the red headed cellist" is about all i'm know as....there are several times in my life i've gotten..."i didn't recognize you without your cello" (thats always a good feeling : )

good halloween costumes

i was watching mystery men with a friend tonight and thought...wow great halloween costumes!!! who knows i may come as the bowler to something...

my friends and my church

i really do love my church...there are several reasons really but one that hit me today has to do with my friends...i love being in a church were my best friends in the world are there with me...i love sitting on a pew with them knowing in 20 years, that there are going to be a lot of changes....but these people will have been there...they will have helped me through things and i them...we will have been happy and helped each other with marriages and kids....we will laugh together and be the obnoxious ones that everyone secretly loves and admires having fun all the while...we will see each other through job problems, relationship problems, family problems....we will see each other through the time when we are not on the same pew, because we are exploring other options that may be out there.....and yet whatever happens, where ever life leads us we know that we love each other the way God wants us to...and i thank God everyday for these relationships....and please know that i love you all : ) (cheese, i know)

very excited

i'm very excited about my weekend...i'm not really doing anything but it is a long weekend....fall break time and i'm leaving to go out of town tomorrow...i'm only going to be gone over night but the fact that i'm going to be away from work and away from home and away from a sixteen year old is very exciting to me...and i will then come home to a house all to myself for 2 whole night....i don't think it would matter at all if the entire weekend just totally sucks...i will just have the house to myself and that is awesome...who knows i might throw an impromptu party friday : )

POST SECRETS

if you have never been to post secrets you need to go...

NOW : )

thoughts by me : )

i've realized today that people are different...yes, i know...very obvious...but i think we tend to surround ourselves with people that are like us...and sometime we don't realize that there are others out there that don't see it our way or aren't as calm about things as we are...

"you do it to yourself"...this is somewhat my motto in life...you have to be prepared for whatever comes with the decisions you have made...which pretty much sucks...i've made one decision lately that seemed so right...and actually i'm not sure that it was wrong but now i have to live with the results and although i think i'm right the results are proving to be bad...so this makes me wonder was i right or wrong in my actions...sometimes i have to wonder if there is ever going to be a time where everything just works out : )

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

which brings me to the next topic...one of the books i'm reading...Teri recently gave me a book called twentysomething....and the book is pretty much about the quarter life crisis and how pretty much your twenties suck...you've graduated from college and now what do you do...well you go to work...and then all of the sudden that degree isn't really what you wanted to do after all, but now you have bills that have to be paid (including student loans) and so goes life...and then on top of that you are dealing with relationship issues and the feeling of not belonging...and what i have to say is "thank God, i'm not the only one" : ) sometimes it hard to see past yourself and realize that these things are happening to other people...and the book mentioned that for some reason, we have it in our heads that we can do this by ourselves and that no one else is going through this so lets not talk about it...lets pretend that we are great with how everything is going...and i'm sure there are some that are very happy with everything and know exactly what they want but i'm glad to realize that i'm not the only who is in the life a lot of the time sucks phase...(not all the time, and actually i'm an optimist, and am pretty content although not always happy : )

then i'm reading mere christianity (i never read two books at once, but i am now)...i recommend this book to everyone...one of the things that has hit me in the last few chapters is that i don't have to be perfect...and even when i'm not i just have to try again...i know another one of those duh moments...God doesn't judge us on what we haven't accomplished but rather what we have accomplished and who He knows we are...this is very good news...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

lets see anything else i can bore my readers with : )....oh yes...something that came to me also this weekend...i think i've had to much time to think : )...when a female gets married she picks friends to support her and be with her in this very happy moment...people to keep her sane in her moments of insanity...and this is great, but heres what i don't get...why is it that we don't do the same things when one of our friends is pregnant...to me, a kid seems to be a little bit of a bigger deal...and there is a lot more that goes into a kid...you would think you would want the same sort of support...i do realize that husbands or significant others are usually involved but thats one person...maybe i'm just talking out my ass and have no idea what i'm talking about : )
