one cup of rice

for most of us who have cooked even a little, we know that you measure cooking ingredients in a measuring cup....i was out tonight and pat called to ask me how to cook rice for stirfry...i told her she needed two cups water...one cup rice...i get home and there is a coffee cup full of rice : )...next time i will be more specific....
